Aleveo - Crowdsource Innovation via Students →
Interesting application of crowdsourcing for design innovation. Provided it can create enough of Win-Win situation for both students and companies it could herald the future of outsourced, crowdsourced design.

Billie Tweets - a Twitter tribute to Michael... →
Great example of a single purpose site, knocked up in a few days, with huge viewing and virality potential. I doubt anyone ever listens to the whole song, or bothers clicking on many of the links, but as a one-off web “experience” it’s nicely put together.

Obama's campaign manager downplays Web 2.0 impact →
Interesting look at how the likes of Facebook and Twitter only helped the later stages, and that email, online donations and TV ads really won the campaign.

My Starbucks Idea →
Another example of crowdsourcing innovation. Seems like everyone’s doing it now, even Starbucks ..
.. And in the true spirit of sharing the reward for creating good ideas, Starbucks says: “If we implement your idea, we may give you credit on the site, but we won’t be compensating customers if their ideas are chosen”. That’s nice.

But it’s not an iPhone. With the app store, a developer community and already integrated with a suite of software and hardware. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Book At Bedtime - Silentnight →
Great example of engaging digital marketing. Not only can you listen to and read stories created by kids, but you can vote on them too. And families will tell everyone they know to vote on their little darling’s efforts. Which is how I heard of it. (Vote Laurent please)

CP + B’s Burger King ads may have cleared up at award ceremonies, but failed to do the one thing they were designed to do: sell more burgers. Looks like fellow adoring advertisers just ain’t market enough to out-sell McDs (via http://twitter.com/phil_adams)

Fascinating insight into social media and protesting - not just championing the cause, but exploring the imbalances and bias that may result.
