Jim Wolff, man

Delicious digital morsels served on a crisp bed of verbiage, sprinkled with freshly picked links and lashings of multimedia goodness. Occasionally.

Bio

Jim spends his days as a digital guy at The Leith Agency, spare minutes spinning Leith Records and nights howling at the moon. All views expressed are mostly none of his own.

CLEARly a unique UI

:: Sweet bit of user interface design from this Clear app, making other To Do apps (like even the wonderful Wunderlist - which keeps me at least 123% more productive) look a bit clunky and out-dated. Which is what all great design should do.

But whether it’s a new paradigm remains to be seen

Location-Aware Music App Plays A Soundtrack For Central Park

:: Great bit of music creation and geo-location app tinkering by musical brother duo Bluebrain. Another reason / excuse to go to New York on the list.

Zx Plectrum App

:: ”This is the best thing in the history of ever”, wrote one YouTube commenter. Couldn’t have put it better myself.

Loving the old-skool musical jiggery-pokery with this app of distinction by the ever experimental DaveSapien.

And possibly the best use of striped glove in iPad demo too.

Taking interfaces to another dimension, this app by Bloom is out of this world. “Pop cultural instruments for data expression and exploration” is also one of the best brand propositions I’ve seen in a while. Blooming marvellous.

Shame there’s not one for Edinburgh. Have a few broken pavings I’d like to flag..

Seek n Spell - a social iPhone app using wide open spaces and GPS to spell stuff. Like Scrabble, but in the park.

Now all I need to do is find people rich enough for an iPhone, keen enough to download the game too, and bored enough to spend the afternoon running around a park collecting pretend letters via their phones.
