Another example of crowdsourcing innovation. Seems like everyone’s doing it now, even Starbucks ..

.. And in the true spirit of sharing the reward for creating good ideas, Starbucks says: “If we implement your idea, we may give you credit on the site, but we won’t be compensating customers if their ideas are chosen”. That’s nice.

Not one to go on about how well the Guardian are embracing the potential of web technologies, but here’s another simple application of web 2.0 Flickr communities for sourcing great content.

And everyone’s a winner: a community is formed around their love of British summers, photographers get their work showcased, Flickr gets more photos & users, and the Guardian gets great content, sells more advertising and lives to publish a little longer.
